The humane chicken or other Poultry killer neck breaking device is a manually handle operated tool which painlessly and easily despatches all kinds of poultry with little fuss or mess.
I used to use a cone method (a common way to kill poultry) by securing the bird upside down in a galvanised cone then removing the head with a knife but I found the neck breaking device a much easier way to do this reluctant but necessary deed.
It works by breaking (not severing) the neck of the bird by swiftly pushing down on the handle whislt holding the bird in place with the neck resting in the "U" shaped recess.
An adjustable gap between the "U" and the handle blade ensures the neck is broken and not severed – adjustments are made for larger or smaller birds as required.
The birds are rendered unconsious immediately and suffer little. The break cuts the artery in the neck and the bird bleeds into the spinal and head cavity not out anywhere else so it's very clean. Whatch the video.
