I have been totally impressed with our Davidson plum fruit tree and I'm so glad we purchased one a few years back. This is the first year it has fruited so we only had a taste of about 10 plums and not really enough for jam etc but it sure looks very promising for the future.

It strikes easily from seed so I intend to grow several more and plant them in a row under our large fig tree since this one is growing well in part-shade.

In Ground/Raised Bed

What is your Climate?

Organically Grown?

Yes

Fertilisers, Organics, or Other Supplements Used

Eating fresh is a rush due to the sourness but I like them! I intend to make a batch of plum jam once we get a bigger harvest as our tree is still rather small at about 2 metres high.

Pros & Cons

Pros
Fruit seems have limited pest issues and therefore we don't need to net or bag the tree.
Fruit forms on the trunk of the tree making an easy harvest.
The tree looks great! Very ornamental in the garden.
Cons
Fruit is sour so for some people it's not very nice to eat fresh.
