Summary

The Dog Mate D3000 Automatic Pet Feeder can be programmed to feed your dog up to three times a day with pre-sized meal portions to ensure your pet gets the correct amount of feed each time and this can be particularly useful for dogs with strict dietary requirements.

Meals can also be delivered manually outside of programmed meal timings with a push of the button or used totally as a manual dispenser if desired; however, most people will use it in automatic mode "set and forget" knowing your dog will be fed regularly. This is particularly useful for going away for a few days or for those people with busy lifestyles.

The automatic feeder has a LCD control panel for easy programming of meal dispensing, a pet proof snap lock lid to prevent access to the feed box, and a stainless steel feed delivery mechanism capable of dispensing dry feed from 10g upwards per meal.

Works with all popular brands of dry dog and cat feed.

Can be secured or fastened down for more security if needed and has all removable parts which are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

I've owned the Dog Mate D3000 Automatic Dry Food Pet Feeder for 12 months now and have been totally impressed with its build quality and operation.

Having said that, I have had to modify the feeder to prevent my dog from "cheating" and sticking his tongue up the dispenser nose into the feed chamber and pull out extra feed between mealtimes (I have attached images and video explaining how I fixed this problem).

The feed mechanism just works as it should with feed dispensing fairly accurate (accurate enough) for us to comfortably go away for a few days on holiday and have confidence our dog will be fed appropriately.

Our dog is not small he's a medium size and this feeder feeds him three times a day for about 2 weeks between refills so it's very convenient in my opinion.

Our last lot of batteries lasted 12 months so essentially we've only changed the batteries once since purchased.

We've never experienced any clogging (unlike other automatic feeders I've had before) and it works best with the smaller sized dry dog food but will also dispense the medium sized round ones.

This particular feeder could also be used for cats and although it's targeted at small/medium dogs I do think it could be appropriate for larger dogs also.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this automatic feeder - I've had others in the past that just weren't reliable but after using the Dog Mate for the past 12 months I'm certainly glad I chose this one.
