This commercial quality treadmill running machine from Lifespan Fitness was originally released in 2007. Since then Lifespan Fitness (an eBay online store) has released several upgrade models.

The Sportz treadmill was the top of the line model (at the time of release) containing many features previously only found on the very expensive machines typically used in the health industry at commercial gyms.

One of the main features of this treadmill is its overall build quality being a heavy and sturdy running machine to jog on but still with the portability to fold away when not in use to save space.

10 Years of great service out of our Lifespan Treadmill
(Updated: May 23, 2017)
Overall rating
We've owned our Lifespan Sportz Treadmill for a decade now and it has been a truly reliable running machine, which has gotten hundreds of hours of use in our home gym.

Practically, the only maintenance we ever do is spray a little lubricant on the treadmill mat every so often and give the whole machine a wipe down with a wet rag or towel after a workout.

If I recall correctly, we paid $2100 back in 2007 for our model, which was one of the top treadmills Lifespan was selling at the time and yes that's a lot of money. Nevertheless, it's nice to run on a machine similar to the types at the commercial gyms rather than a Kmart special that is flimsy and annoyingly wobbles all over the place when in use. You get what you pay for...

I'm glad to see Lifespan Fitness is still a growing business and doing well all these years later and so they should because companies that make good quality products for reasonable prices deserve success. Obviously, I highly recommend Lifespan's treadmills.

Pros & Cons

Robust and steady machine with limited movement when in use
Great value (even though still a lot of money)
Running surface adjustment harder or softer
Plenty of exercise programs
Good safety features
Good fold away mechanism particularly since it is a big heavy unit
Even though good value compared to other brands with similar features and build quality, it still is a significant cost outlay.
